GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Tone Finger Ease Cleaner

I was wondering if anyone here uses or have used this product. I used it couple of months and started noticing a grayish residue or waxy substance on the fretboard. Tonight i just used it again and i immediately started seeing it turn a grayish color right off the bat. Am i doing something wrong or what?

I do not trust on those products because they all seem to leave that kind of things on the fretboard.
I think the best is just a dry cloath to wipe all the dirt of the stings and the neck.

Hmm, not sure mate.. Is that product made for string cleaning?

I use it and have no problems with that... ive gone through about 3 cans of it so far and i love it..
maybe its just dirt that built up on the fretboard, have you tried cleaning the fretboard then putting finger ease on it..
I use fast fret when im done playing and finger ease before i start playing

What would you clean it with exactly. I have heard not use water on fretboards because it could rot it and see that lemon oil is a good product to use. Is this true? Also i don't if this is supposed to happen though but when i spray the can about 3-4 inches away it still seems that it is coming out too fast. Does this happen to you?

heres what i use to clean my fretboard with and it works very well.. I just use it when i change strings and clean the whole fretboard, then after i use this and change the strings i put finger ease on it..

You might be using too much finger ease, a can should go a long way

just spray the finger ease quickly across the frets and across the back of the neck, you dont need to cake it on there

I've used the stuff a few times before and never experienced that problem. What I do before spraying it on is slip papertowels (or some other type of barrier) between the strings and fretboard so the entire fretboard is covered/protected. Then just a few quick-short bursts from the spray.

I think its good for the fretboard, just cant cake it on there..

I am just going to put the paper towels under the strings because my can seems to allow too much out.

Well I did the instructions exactly and I noticed the same color on my fretboard, thats why I dont buy those things any more unless I'm completely possitive they work and will not hurt anything.

Don't know much about that, but I just use wood oil on the fretboard to keep it moisturized.

I would suggest getting the company Blitz products for guitar/fretboard cleaning and easing. They do not leave a single mark on your guitar and they work for your whole life.
