Everytime I restart my computer...all my cookies are reset. I have to log in to every website I visit as if I have never been there. What setting do I change so my computer remembers my cookies even when I turn my computer off?

what browser are you using?
It is most likely a setting in your browser options.

Try checking under Tools>internet options>general the Browsing History tickbox should be left unchecked. If it's not that then I'm not sure.

Two other possibilities Ben ...

Internet Options>Privacy>Sites and add GMC manually and click Allow.

Or/

Again under Internet Options click the Privacy Tab and change the Settings handle to a lower state.

I am sticking with IE...always have used it and would like to continue. This is a recent problem, and has to have a simple solution! This has never happened before.

Check "Override Automatic Cookie Handling" If that doesn't work, try toggling "Always use session cookies"

BTW, I highly recommend Firefox. Try it - And check out the extensions available (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/). I bet you won't be disappointed.

Once you go to Mozzila Firefox you never go back smile.gif Anyway Firefox won't in any way disturb your IE installation and functionality, you can try it and then uninstall if you don't like it.You can also import your bookmarks and everything from IE to it.Its a much safer browser to use too...

Did you install any programs recently?

If I am not mistaken there are third party programs that may delete IE cookies.

Also try to check the access rights to
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Cookies\

Guys...my cookies work fine. It is only when I restart the computer that they seem to go away. If the computer stays on, all my cookies work perfectly. Only when it is turned back on after being turned off.

Another helpful suggestion is that you write your own broswer, that way you can get it exactly the way you want it to work. wink.gif

Or
in IE to open Tools -> Options-Advanced.
Reset advanced settings and reset browser.

Just a try, see if things change.

This is probably a long shot but what the heck:

Firefox has IE skin available so you will barely notice that you are using different browser. It's better and safer than IE. Just a thought, don't be mad at me please smile.gif
