I Think I don't mute the strings, the 3rd one I believe, but even though I feel like that I have no idea how to stop it, not even after wtaching Pavel's Sweeping Basics WebCam_20080711_1142.mpg ( 14.85MB ) Number of downloads: 247 New attempt after reading comments. One more things to add if I may.
You are not playing note E on 12th fret on high E string while ascending, why is that? This post has been edited by Muris Varajic: Jul 11 2008, 02:22 PM -------------------- Youtube

@Muris Hmm, Gotta review that... I find to have problems with turning the angle of the pick when ascending, I have to lift my hand to make the angle right, don't know if I'm suppose to do that and maybe that's why I don't hit it I see.. Well, when doing sweeping you shouldn't change the angle a lot, that way you'll have no issue to switch from ascending to descending. -------------------- Youtube

Well, Check the new video to see if it's better...I was just doing what Pavel said, you gotta move your pick to your direction and than opposite direction, atleast that's what I understood Direction is going down or up,ascending or descending, sweeping. But if you change the angle of the pick too much you might find it very difficult to execute. -------------------- Youtube

Do you think I change it to much on the second video? I'm watching the first video and you DO change the angle a lot, just watch the whole descending part, you kind a twist the whole fist when going down. Now,if you take a look at some very fast sweep players you'll see that there is no movement like this, first of all you don't have enough time to do that and second, there is no need to do it. So try to keep the same position of the fist and pick, just like when you're doing some regular AP lick, it'll be much easier later when you get used to it. A for the arpeggio you're playing, you have a odd groping here which isn't very often, 4 notes in ascending and 5 in descending. But if that feels comfortable for you then go for it. To have it more common you should just add note E and high E string 12th fret , then 15th fret played with upstroke, pull of to 12th and continue the sweep with all upstrokes. -------------------- Youtube
