If he wants to learn it, why not? Kids are curious, so I would encourage him.

Not too young at all Just avoid forcing him to do a lot of practice, and theory, which he wont find fun. Playing music should always be fun

As long as he doesn't feel like eating the guitar, fine!

I started learning to play the drums inside mummy's stomach before birth - that's a big NO, NO... older than that should be fine thou.
The issue is when at a young age, we are very curious, but also have a short attention span... what was I going on about again, something about a span... nevermind. It's fun and great to start young, don't expect too much at first though and ensure they will know they wont just pick it up in go (might get annoyed if too much and give up). Practice something simple and fun with them, they might stick with it! I wish I was allowed to start earlier on the guitar, but honestly I might of not stuck with it as much. -------------------- Play Games Arcade Take a break, Play Games! I don't think you should wait until he is 30.

My daughter got her first electric just before her 6th birthday and has been learning guitar, piano, recorder and choral singing since . She's now 10. She also started learning the cajon late last year.

You'll need fingers, so give the zygote some time to get into the late stages of embryonic segmentation. Then you can start playing!

I definitely think you should start him on lessons if he is showing the interest! Its the right age and he could learn easily and well. Its always good to start young. Same with sports and other things...
