GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Christmas Is Coming...

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Dec 4 2011, 06:13 PM

Hey guys! We are in the month of Christmas and I was wondering how do you feel about it. Everybody takes this part of the year with a different feeling. Do you like Christmas? Do you feel happy? Do you feel melancholic?

Posted by: Gitarrero Dec 4 2011, 06:24 PM

I like Christmas cause I won't have to work for a week and can spend some time with my mom and my friends in Muenster again smile.gif
The weather is not so good at the moment, mostly rain so the real Christmas feeling isn't there yet.

And to be honest...it's not Christmas without a GMC Christmas Competition! Where is it? wink.gif

It's been raining a lot but other than that I like christmas, people tend to relax a bit more these, and that's always good

I like when people are having a good time in holidays and such, some people rush, buy things, have fun, but it's a great time to just relax a bit.

It is only about one thing for me...it is all in the name...

All of the commercialization really turns me off....but the reason for the season is still awesome!

Christ...mas!

Unfortunately, the direction which this whole period took is so off the hook that I don't even want to think about it. For me, it's just a period when I get to reunite with my family and friends. Unfortunately, people tend to shop 'till they drop or eat and drink 'till they turn green, in my country. LOADS of pork traditional products make people gain mass biggrin.gif and there's an alarmingly great number of cases on TV where you can hear about a lot of folks being picked up by an ambulance for exaggerating on the festivities.

Do you guys eat a lot on Christmas?

Even though I'm a Christian, I tend to feel a little depressed this time of year, I think everything is so over hyped, I just try and treat it like any other time.

The dark evenings and cold weather don't help either!!!!

I like Christmas. I don't mind people saying that Christ is the reason for the season. Just keep in mind it's only a man-made holiday. God never commanded us to celebrate Jesus' birth. So it's not a sin if we don't. But if want to celebrate, that's wonderful! I certainly do. But I have also heard that he was born some time in June. Only hearsay, never researched it. It was originally a day of pagan worship and the Christians turned it into something good. All fine and good. We just need to remember it's not commanded of us to celebrate. So I have no problem with "Happy Holidays" so long as they are not trying to escape the "convicting power."

Besides the joy of celebrating Christ's birth, I love the time of presents. So awesome. Hey, because of this holiday I am getting my Alesis MK2 speakers for mixing my songs. YAY

And yeah, I love the spirit this time of year. smile.gif

Nice xmas logo skin on GMC smile.gif

Christmas is summer time here in NZ so it's quite difference than over in the states. I don't get any snow my area at winter anyways so I enjoy summer best and having a long holiday with it. Our summer is awesome weather, not as hot too. It's pretty much like america's spring break but longer. happy.gif

Not as branded or big but still have the evil Coca Cola Santa staining the real Saint Nick and purchases go up through the roof as people love to waste money.

However, lots of music/bands playing too, which is kewl! A lot of drinking and meals outside in the sun. Very active sports too. Time to get to the beachs and bbqs, get a tan, live in swimwear and hang out with the hot chicks. Rather than snowboarding and snowmen, we have skiing, surfing, swimming, camping, etc.
