I don't know why my entry is called "Beginners phrasing help" and points at a lesson by Smells?
And I see I have 4 votes already, so maybe someone voted for me believing it's Smells lesson they voted for, so I may have some votes I shouldn't have, or the opposite?
Posted by: Smells May 5 2008, 10:05 PM
I`ll try and change the link, if not I`ll get Andrew on it asap mate
Ok sorry about that, Andrew must have had a little slip, but I`ve changed it all to point to your lesson and changed it in the poll too

No problem Andrew C...
Audiopaal sails away in a comfortable lead! OK, dude, you played dirty and used that hat to win you votes, now I will call a few "contacts" of mine down in Sicily. Eeehh, that is... If it's ok by the rules to use bribes and threats in this competition?

I will give a deep check on the entries to do my vote. (for the sake of competition not myself)
And hopefully I will get some more votes

I'm really sorry, I won't use the hat next time, I promise
And to those of you who voted both for me and the other contestants, thanks a lot
It wouldn't be as exciting without you

it would be cool if everybody leaves a comment after voting, to tell why did he choosed him and other feedbacks

Yep, even if one doesn't want to undisclose the vote, it would be nice to hear what kind of lesson one is more interested in or general feedback, so that we improve lessons in the future.
Posted by: audiopaal May 6 2008, 08:51 AM

With the way the forum software works - all we can do is assume that everyone votes for themselves - so be sure you do that as well!
edit - topic pinned!

Well, that guitar is a handbuilt custom by some guys in Poland, Rek Guitars.
In the video it appears almost black which it isn't, you can check it out at their homepage for real colors and some more in depth photos: http://rekguitars.com/english.php?site=dir&nr=7
About tone, I only use Pod XT straight into the PC, I don't mess around with tone very much, now I just use some patches I downloaded. I'm not 100% happy with the tone, but I will tweak tone to perfection(
) some day soon...
Posted by: OrganisedConfusion May 10 2008, 10:46 AM
Andrew for the next comp voting is there any way to keep the voting hidden until the end so you don't know who wins That would be so much better and come as a bigger surprise to the winner.

Wow that's a pretty guitar, too bad they don't show prices on the site ... i think they don't want to scare us with it lol
and it would be cool if they've putted a floyd rose on the majestic p

INteresting you should say that - for the next competition we are going to do the exact opposite and make the voting even more prominent, but there is a good reason for it - you'll have to wait and see

Well, I sent my specification to many luthiers, who I had checked up before... In Sweden, Finland, USA and other west european countries the price I got was between $4000-$6500... In Poland (who do have many skilled luthiers) it ranged between $1500-$2800... I paid somewhere around $2000. I know however Polish luthiers are more expensive now...
There's a reason they don't have prices, they only make guitars excactly according to your specs, they don't have certain models, and everyone wants different specs which leads to a big variety of prices..
But they do have a pricelist, where you can se basic price depending on different things.
THis was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, or so I thought, I'm constantly have GAS for a new custom built, but I'll keep the money in the bank for some time to come.. I have terrible gas for a Music Man Petrucci now though!

Your guitar is so cool man, it was a good investment, i think that a custom built guitar is better than a musicman pettruci
and it's pretty expensive too
yeah and by the way, i'm also thinking of changing my pickups, i have EMG 81/s/85. i like EMG, but sometimes, i think that i want something else ... (i have a ibanez prestige 1570 i think and my EMG pickups are to close to my strings, and i can't lower them more ... and i don't want to higher my strings ... the problem is that my pickups are so loud now ! )
