I mentioned him in your other thread, but I have nothing but praise for Ganbat. This mongolian guy can put tons of expression into a few strokes of a pen, or create detailed masterpieces. Page through his sketchbook to see his stuff. Some of the more detailed stuff is further in. I really love his style, very unique IMO.

here's a list of artists that I know
Fantasy Classic dungeons and dragons Keith Parkinson Larry Elmore Jeff Easley These three are the more famous of the dungeon and dragons artists. Comic book artists Michael William Kaluta Charles Vess There really isn't a gallery in Charles Vess' site. But look through the site and you'll find a lot of pictures. If you can find Stardust or the book of ballads I would recommend that you look at the artwork that he did. Tim Bradstreet Has done a lot of covers for comic books. His artwork for Hellblazer is my favorite. Has also done the artwork for the roleplaying game Vampire: the masquerade from White Wolf Alex Ross His specialty is super heroes. He's an amazing artist. Very realistic style. Lord of the rings John Howe Alan Lee (sorry couldn't find his site) These two are the concept artists for the Lord of the rings trilogy. There is also a roleplaying game called Withcraft. I find their artwork very interesting. They have the first edition of the game as a free download. Witchcraft RPG This post has been edited by Vinicitur: Nov 21 2007, 09:22 AM -------------------- There are 2 types of people in the world: consumers and creators. Which one are you? |

Man am I stupid. I forgot Frank Frazetta. His style is very representative of the pulp era: "Sci-fi" and "Sword and sorcery". I found some of his art of flickr.

Hello GMC! Can anyone recommend me some good artists? preferably Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Horror artists, (Comic Books count to), i need some new kind of style and approach to look at, my current drawing bear alot of resmeblence to Luis Royo, but i want to mix my love of Royo's paintings with other styles, here are artists i already know of quite a bit. Luis Royo Boris Vallejo Julie Bell HR Giger Michael Turner Joseph Linsner Billy Tucci Any artists you can recommend would be helpful, i know i cant be the only one at GMC with a taste for the arts! A bit of topic, but if you like Giger you really should have this -------------------- Schecter C1 Hellraiser EMG 81/85, replaced with JB/Jazz (SH4/SH2n) w. coilsplit Schecter Revenger HB-105, replaced with EMG 81/85 Stratocaster Deluxe Players Noiseless Ibanez 2550z Blackstar HT5H, Blackheart BH5H w. Might not be what you're after Uncreator but I'd suggest Francisco Goya (Spanish artist from the 1800s). Goya did a whole series of paintings during his 'black paintings' period that include things like a a witches sabbath, Saturn eating his son and so on.
Somewhat more up to date Picasso's 'Guernica' is always worth a look - albeit not in the style that you use. And also Anselm Kiefer.
