Subscription Renewal, Pricing policy for renewals

I am getting a banner saying that mysubscription needs renewing.

I assumed that this would happen automatically or that at the very least I would get an email reminder.

Now the site wants to charge me $228

I had thought that for those continuing with their subscription that the old proce would continue to apply

Im rather confused by this could one of the admins please reply and help clarify and sort this out?
