I agree, I love Nightwish biggrin.gif
For some reason, I even love the new Nightwish more then the old one... I've got nothing against Tarja (the former singer), but Anette (the new one) definetly brought something new to the band...

And we can't talk about Nightwish without mentioning Marco Hietala (bassist, singer, and who I have wrote a Wiki about tongue.gif ).. He's just awesome!!!

Indeed. The Islander is quickly becoming one of my faves.

That guys voice is awesome.

Ever heard "Tarot"?

Thats another band he's in. he fronts it with his brother on guitar.

Love Tarot. Especially their latest album: Crows Fly Back. Ofc the music they create would be quite medicore if Marco did not sing in it smile.gif

And it's really good that in the new era of NW the lead guitar gets more and more role in the music. Until now it was just basic powerchord stuff and some galopping while Tuomas did all the music on the synth. For example I really like the solo of 7 days to the wolfs (on the new album) cool.gif

I haven't heard of them? I'll have a look biggrin.gif

I actually don't like the old nightwish because of work: one guy at the office had his speakers on loud all day, everyday and kept playing like 1 song OVER and OVER.....

hehe

Nightwish with Tarja eventually gave me a headache, while listening to Annete reminded me of Disney pop singers.

hmmmm....

i think the new nightwish is cool and all but i miss the old singer...

i always loved the opera based vocals...the new one has a voice a little too "punky" for my tastes

but the new singer is very very pretty...i mean that will the most respect possible.

oh well...out with the old, in with the new i supposed.....oh and the bye bye beautiful music video also had a lot of pretty women...very different for metal, thats for sure but i like, its new.

I think the new and old Nightwish shouldn't be compared as the style is pretty different in the two albums. You can of course still hear that it is Nightwish, but there are things that have changed.
Though, Nightwish will always be an important part of my life as it was that band along with a few other artists that brought me into metal, transcribing, composing and classical biggrin.gif
