GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ "extra Video"

Posted by: Ralleliciouz Mar 24 2008, 05:57 PM

hi GMC laugh.gif

i have made this topic because i think it would be a good idea if the instructors would make an extra "slow lesson".

as you know in each lesson the instructors show how to play the whole lesson in small bites and in a lower tempo..

and i would think it would be cool if they make and extra part where they play the whole lesson in a lower tempo.

so if the lesson is about a rock solo and it has 10 parts then the number 11 would be the whole lesson but in a lower tempo. so if the lesson is 150 bpm the part would be in 100 or something like that.

what do you guys think about that?

Its an interesting suggestion but im not sure how much use that would be....why is it you think it would be good?

i think that a normal tempo video and the slow videos are good enough for me, i've been able to piece together all the slow videos myself without an entire slow video showing me how to go from lick to lick..

i haven't ben playing guitar that long. i can play the slow lessons but many of the fast lessons sounds amazing but i cant follow that tempo.. thats why i posted it so some of the "slower"people can learn to play the fastest lessons but in a lower tempo and then start build up the tempo.

But there are slow backing tracks as well. smile.gif
All you have to do is to learn each section,
then play it all together over slow backing track, right?

I think you would benefit from playing at these different speeds with the backing track. Im no shredder, but being able to feel a beat and compare it to a quicker tempo was an important step for me. This really works hand in hand with using a metronome and also understanding note durations.

Might i reccommend these lessons:

http://www2.guitarmasterclass.net/how-to-use-a-metronome.htm

http://www2.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guitar/timing-exercise/

Also have you tried using the GP5 file? You can play them using tuxguitar(free) http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/, guitarpro 5 (not free) http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php, and it will give you an easy way to slow down/speed up tabs and understand how the lesson joins together slowly, Guitar Pro has a built in metronome too! (not sure about tuxguitar though)

Hope that helps a little wink.gif
