Been struggling with the bends on this for a long long time. Still not perfect, way off perfect but here it is, rip it up. Thanks

Hi Phil! Great to find this one at REC! I'm sure that the different comments and points of view that you'll receive here will give you ideas and motivation to keep on improving your guitar playing.

The main things to improve on this video are (in this specific order of importance):

- Bending
- Vibrato
- Timing

Your bending will improve with more practice. I consider important that you keep on practicing every day the bending exercises that I've shared with your at Gab's Army thread.

Your vibrato is not consistent. I think that you could use the closer finger of your left hand to help the one that is doing vibrato on the fret, as you do when you playing bending.

Finally, timing, there are some licks that aren't totally tight, and I think that it's just related to lack of attention to this topic, so just remember to think on going tight with the backing.

Hi there Phil! You bending still need some work but most of the bends here are pretty close and do not hurt ears so it's a partial success :)Well tuned guitar is a mark of pro players - You did it very nice it I gave some extra points to your take. first half has a nice timming but something goes wrong the further You go. Maybe it's still a moment when You have to foicus to much on the notes to play rather then overall feeling while playing. I think You can get it done soon

Is this the same Phil that I've seen REC takes from before? Dude, you've been practising big time, haven't you?

First of all, I was suitably impressed with how tight your timing has become. You're all over it now so I'm really pleased with that.

Vibrato is coming along very nicely too. There are some notes which Stephane adds vibrato to (as would I) that you leave alone, which can make them sound a bit blunt and to the point. So if anything you can add a bit more vibrato to the non bent notes that end each phrase, just to soften them up a bit more and let them ease into the end.

Bending - again, a massive improvement here. I really am impressed, it is like watching a different player. The only bend that was obviously out to me was that last one at 0:50 where you played another whole tone instead of a semitone. (Or were you going for the jazz sound? Just say you were and you can get away with it)

I notice that there's some moments where you bend up using the 3rd finger unaided by the 1st and / or 2nd fingers. It will just help you get a bit more stability if you use your idle fingers to add support to your bends. This is more of a need when you're using the 3rd or 4th fingers to fret and bend a note because as you get closer to the edge of the hand you get less power whereas the 1st and 2nd fingers have more natural strength.

For example, for that bend on the G string at the end, I would just add my 2nd finger to the string right next to it. I always do that when bending up in that pentatonic position.

That's my main advice for ongoing improvement. Everything else is progressing nicely!
