That's a cool story man!
Unfortunately, dream is all fine but once you find yourself on the road without any money and no house - the "i am hungry" feeling kills your dream and you're only thinking about your stomach. I know what my dream is but the whole week now i was only working on programming/web-design for my university as the job gives you the money to live and dream doesn't so my guitar was collecting dust and i didn't practice at all. So before pursuing the dream i want to have something to live from. I was thinking a lot and came to a conclusion that i will be fine even if i don't make it as professional guitar player and leave guitar as my hobby. I always wanted to go to GIT in London but i think the only chance i have to go there is to work for a couple of years in IT, get the money, and alter go there - it's 10,000$ per year and nothing now can give me the money to study there so here is one of dream's problems Good luck with Berklee m8! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

Well, if you wanna do the music as a living - do it, by all means. For me it is important to stay i school and finish my masters degree so I can have a steady job with social and ability to earn more progress in my carrier. And don't get me wrong - I DO love guitar more that anything else, but.. the situation in my country for musicians....not so good and very unstable - believe me. If I lived in USA or somewhere it would be different, there you have the market, the people to meet, the ability to succeed big. I don't want a life on the road and constantly worrying about my incomes HERE. So, I'll finish school and later on - who knows. Maybe I become musician, maybe not, but school is the most important thing in life for sure. I can always do recordings, play the guitar and do some jobs related to music aside, and this is great, because not a lotta people have two options, and when I think I've created a music option literally myself with no school, really tells how much I love guitar.
So go after your dreams m8, if it is Berkley, go there, but KNOW where you are going, talk to people, be wise, and make wise desicions. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
