Great Job on Metal Metrics 2. What exercises can I work on to improve my picking ?
Your picking is very calculated and dead on. I've been working some of Ben's lessons
and I've been getting better but I still seem to have problems with that chunk picking
or whatever you call it. I appreciate it.

Hey mate! Glad you like the lesson! Well, in order to get to that exact machine like riffing style, you have to work a lot with the metronome on the riffs which you want to learn. Play as tight as possible with the tempo and again, using drum tracks which are particularly fit for a riff (learning the riff from Metal Metrics 2 and playing it as tight as possible with the drum track is a very good option, for instance) and last but not least, listening to riffing oriented music and drum writing helped me a lot.

I usually come up with a riff and the drum track together, seeing it as a whole not as two separate parts

Here's what I am proposing to you let's work together on a riff oriented lesson of your choice, which you think is close to your level and when you nail it we move on towards a more difficult one and so on I'll tag along and direct you, by telling you what can be improved in your takes.

We can use the REC section for this little project, what do you think?

Wow I think I'm going to take you up on this cause I really want to get better. I'm probably around 2-3 difficulty level though.
I'm comfortable with pull-offs, hammer ons, pinch harmonics, natural harmonics, bar chords, power chords. Don't know all my chords and cannot alternate pick worth a crap. Can you recommend something around that level that's metal or whatever you think can help me. I really appreciate you helping me out mate. Thanks.

Cosmin that will work. I looked at all 4 and I think I like the one you did. Metal Metrics 4 is the one I want to do.
Give me a little while to practice on it and I'll u/l it to REC. I have a Digital camera older one so I need to see how it's going to perform. I'm going to buy a HD one soon but not in a week or so. It's pretty cool so I'll be practicing and see you soon.

Yes I noticed that. The sliding harmonics are a treat. Never tried them that way before. Looks like a great lesson and it will be a challenge for me. Thanks a bunch.
