Thanks Gab! I've been a member for over a year now but am finally ready to really zero in on what I want to achieve and am very grateful for you helping in creating a real plan of attack!!

I've been playing on and off for the past 15 years.
Hammett-Wylde-Rhoads-Jake E. Lee-Skolnick- Can't go wrong there! But I want a strong focus on Wylde style.
GOALS: Have a stronger idea of theory, scales, modes, and being able to improvise (nothing too crazy) b/c I know WHERE to play on guitar when I hear a backing track or a riff from a fellow guitarist. On a technical note, I want to develop a brutal vibrato, and strong sweeping abilities.
5 Years- Just want to be in the moment and enjoy the goals I have now. Clearly I imagine being a better, tighter player, but I'll be happy if I can achieve what I want now.
Never live playing unless playing with friends and full garage bands count lol
Strong/Weak: Am very dedicated if I have the right plan of attack. Otherwise I flounder around. Sucks.
Music Theory: I understand scales, but would like to develop some chord theory, circle of 5ths and so on.
I can try and do some recording from my webcam on the computer? Never tried actually.

Thank you Gab and to all kick @ss members of GMC! "Kirk"

Hi mate! Thanks for your info!

It would be very important to see your current playing so I'll share here a cool tutorial about how to record guitar videos. I think that it will really help you to get the most from your camera and computer:

The plan would be that you choose a backing track and record yourself improvising over it. You can use Pentatonic scale or any other that you find comfortable to improvise.

These are some suggested backings: https://youtu.be/xv5NqZJt71o
https://youtu.be/1kAfqelAhuc

But you can use any other you like.

HERE you have a good thread with theory that we will use as reference. Please start reading it and let me know if it's clear. We'll see the musical / practical use of all that information here.

Please let me know what you think.
