Stay away from really sharp sushi knifes. Got a katana style sushi knife. And now I won't play guitar for quite a while and I am actually a lucky guy because I will be able to play again at all.
Some hours of surgery and stitches later I was told that I will be able to play again.
And that had to happen now, that I was back to a nice practice regime of about two-three hours a day.
At least it is only the right hand (bad for work though as I am a righty).
thats sux man, i thought i had a bad day because i got a speeding ticket but u shafted urself with a knife, im sorry
wow man, sorry to hear that. I didn't know those knifes were so sharp. I'm always careful with a knife, your advice is good, thanks.
.
Good to know you're ok and no permanent damage/injury. Nasty type of knife.
Over here in Southern Spain there are annual warnings in December when people want to cut jamon for the holiday season. You cut the ham off the bone using a very sharp long bladed knife and a lot of people slice themselves badly...
Oh so sorry to hear about this!! I have a fobia of knives and I try to stay away from them or apply 1000% attention when cutting something.
Ouch, that sounds painful. I hope you make a speedy recovery.
Butterful swords can be quite dangerous too, even in the hands of someone who knows how to use them - just putting that out there in case anyone fancied throwing around some butterfly swords ...
Oh so sorry to hear about this!! your advice is good, thanks.
Sorry to hear that mate! But glad you`re getting better!
And i never seen a sushi knife, but i think guitarists must be very careful with all things that are sharp.
hope you recover soon
Thanks guys
Will work on my legato technique. The left hand still works
i wish you a speedy recovery mate, i did my left hand (bending finger), in with a broken wine glass about six weeks ago, couldnt play properly for about a month....it was hell, so i sympathise with you. all the best.
Got my stiches out. One step on the way to recovery. Now I need rehab for the tendon. But I am confident
Ouch!
I'm so sorry to hear that!
Glad it will get better though!
Sorry to read about this. I missed this thread when you posted.
Glad everything is getting better man!
I like to cook a lot myself. Now you got me thinking about being extra careful
Wow.
I'm not very handy with knifes whatsoever so I tend to stay away from them
I do love sushi tho
I wish you a speedy recover. And good luck on working your legato I hope that by the end of the recovery you already are doing some joe satriani legato monster licks
