Building Musical Intervals for Guitarists Welcome to the learning musical intervals for guitar page at GMC run by yours truly, The Professor. The lessons on this page are geared towards helping you build a strong understanding of each of the different intervals used in modern music, how they are built, how they are related and how they relate to chords and scales when writing songs or soloing over chord changes. If you are completely new to intervals, at least from a theoretical perspective, you should start with the first article in the list below. Then, feel free to move on to each interval in the list, keeping in mind that you can always return to this page for a refresher on a previous interval or lesson to keep your interval theory chops sharp at all times. If you have covered this material already in your musical development, then feel free to browse each lesson as a refresher, or to fill in any gaps you have in your understanding of the different intervals, how they are built and how to apply them to your guitar playing and song writing. Feel free to bookmark this page as more lessons will be added regularly, and as always if you have any questions post them below and I’ll be glad to help out.
