Hey guys over the past few days I have been looking at buying a cheap acoustic that I can take places and not have to worry about it getting stolen or my drunk friends damaging it... I have come across a couple of cheap 3/4 size ones so I was just wondering if you guys could list the disadvantages and I guess the advantages too but im not so worried about that much as I think the only advantages are pretty obvious smile.gif

The guitar I am looking at specificially is an Epiphone and the only details listed on the auction are "Hardware Chrome Scale 24.4" Nut Width 1.75" Neck Joint Set Neck Material Mahogany Fingerboard RW/Dot Binding Body Body Material Mahogany Top Mahogany (solid top) Finishes Natural".... compared to the rest of the guitars in the 100 $ price range it seems pretty decent especially considering its only a year old. just bear in mind that it is actually a piece of crap I am after as I already have a very nice Morris I just want something that I can take places and let drunk people touch it tongue.gif

anyway im getting really off topic now... this wasnt actually supposed to be about the guitar I want to buy but about the pros and cons of 3/4 size guitars mellow.gif

I'd find it a little cramped to play, but then presumably this is more about strumming along to the accompaniment of drunken singing, so precision probably isn't an issue wink.gif

So its like smaller frets with like with like 3 dropped off the end... are they really that much smaller?

Also would it effect the tone much.... I know its a pretty stupid question to ask when im buying a budget guitar but if its budget tone paired with small guitar tone (assuming it effects it much) then it would be terrible.

Oh and its not just for drunken playing either tongue.gif
I am going on holiday soon and theres no way in hell im taking my good guitar away with me.... I wouldnt even want to take it round to my mates, even if we were sober (there is a downside to being given a very valuable guitar sad.gif)

P.S. the size has noting to do with travelling its just this seems like one of the best deals I can get on a cheap guitar and I need to decide by this evening sad.gif

Edit:
If anyone has a picture of a normal size beside a 3/4 size it would be great if they could post it smile.gif

This obviously isn't an actual shot but it does depict an accurate sizing differential.I made it in photoshop.Attached Image
