The RAINBOW Bar and Grill (L.A.)
*The place is a DIVE But the Rock-n-Roll vibe is just perfect smile.gif

Bungalow @ The Beverly Hills Hotel (L.A.)
*Talk about being pampered like a Rock Star

Led Belly Studios Atlanta
*Hallowed Halls of Matts studio have seen the likes of Mastadon and nearly every Atlanta Metal band worth a hoot, including my old band Gnostic where I got to record with Steve Fllynn from Atheist (my fave recording memory)

So two west coasts and a local. smile.gif Nothing in Europe. sad.gif

I like your list the best. Eating cheese with beer? That's funny, because I hardly ordered wine at all when I was there. That 1664 beer wasn't to bad either. Of course there was the sticker shock. Nice photo of the Champ Elysees, and Arc de Triomphe. I was in Paris last year, and it was amazing.

Ken and dcz702 I gotta say I love your lists as well tongue.gif

For me it was

Guadeloupe:

The center of France with its amazing castles:

My mountain house which I never grow tired of smile.gif

Ah, my home for 11 years ! ... was happy to move away from Paris 3 years ago, but now i miss this city quite often.
Whats the story of this picture?

No particular order:

Table Mountain, Cape Town

Hong Kong

The Alcazar in Sevilla (and Sevilla more generally)

A few others that deserve a mention... Sardinia, Blue Moutains Australia, Gubbio Italy, Lyon France, Cork Ireland, Alhambra Granada Spain, Cordoba Spain, Barcelona Spain, Guggenheim Bilbao Spain, Picos de Europa Spain, Parc Donana Spain, Sierra Nevada Spain, Teida Canaries, Subettica Cordoba Spain, Bologna beach Cadiz Spain...

(Yes I do like Spain)

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Mar 11 2014, 12:39 PM

I am a big fan of Luxembourg, been there a couple of times, so that takes up two places on my list:

Then I'll put in a place I used to go camping with my family when I was a kid. I miss those days!

Nothing too spectacular, but peaceful places, none the less.

See mate, this is one thing that I didn't know how to state smile.gif There is literally a great number of places in Romania that are outworldly beautiful and they are here, a few hundred kilometers away at most. So yeah, it's compulsory to explore your native land aside from all the other wonderful places in the world.

We (my wife and I) left junior with gramma and granpa (in Italy) and went to Paris for 4 days. Rented the Velib bikes and rode down the Champs Elysee to the Arc. Beer and snacks as a reward. It was really hot (end of July). Paris is unequaled.
*I was near Lyon for a week last summer - incredible as well!

Iguazu Falls in Argentina could be the Garden of Eden if there ever was such a place.

The world can be a big and beautiful place.
But like most folks I also dig my own tiny slice of it ...

Next year, I have Scotland, Wales and Ireland on my list smile.gif I would love to make a longer trip and spend 2-3 weeks visiting these countries. I will have to get a driver's license though till then and rent a car, as it's by far, the best way to explore smile.gif

You've all been to so many amazing places! I envy you all! Better start saving some money to go somewhere! smile.gif

I have been thinking about doing a bicycle ride to Berlin from Copenhagen. It's about 600 km I think. I might do it this summer.

Traveling is one of the most important and spiritually rewarding activities that a human being can do. I strongly advise you to start doing it as soon as possible as it will change a lot of things for ya wink.gif

I definitely will be traveling when or if I have the money. I went to Amsterdam on my own a few years back. That was quite fun. Then I went to Prague with my ex girlfriend back in 2009 I think it was. And I used to go many places with my family when I was a kid. Holland, France, Italy and so on. I miss those days!

I agree maestro. You Europeans are so lucky. You have so many amazing cities, countries, and cultures to visit. Traveling is super easy there. smile.gif

There used to be a time when travel, or a 'grand tour' was regarded as part of a person's education.

For me it has to be St. Peter's Basillica in Vatican City (I got to go to Easter Mass with the Pope which is a big deal being that I'm from the US), Sorrento in Italy (because even on a dreary and rainy day it was still so beautiful) and probably the Appalachian mountains.

I haven't gotten to travel to much but I have a few places on my bucket list.

Posted by: AK Rich Mar 14 2014, 07:08 PM

The island of Kauai, Cabo San Lucas. And the Chugach mountains outside of Valdez Alaska for some epic Heliboarding!

Posted by: jstcrsn Mar 15 2014, 12:59 AM

Took a road trip to San Fransisco many years ago and as we turned off the freeway, miles before the city ,we drove over this pass and the trees were exactly like full size bonsai trees , early morning fog covered the valley , it looked so prehistoric I was waiting for a t-rex to jump out and bite my car. Don't remember the valley's name ,but the image is crystal clear

You were probably in the Livermore Valley. If you went over the Altamont Pass,(The on with all the windmills) and you saw a valley with rolling hills(which is all developed now) that is what we call the Tri-Valley Area.

Hell yeah man, right on! Tin Can eh? Not sure but that sounds like one of the runs that the snowcat outfits in Thompson pass access, yes? Berlin Wall is a run that comes to mind in that area too. That kind of backcountry skiing and snowboarding you get in the Chugach kind of spoils you, or at least it did me. I vividly remember the first time I got dropped on a ridge close to one of the peaks, and the heli banked over the edge and disappeared from sight, When the spray of snow from the blade wash cleared, and we were up there all alone on a beautiful bluebird day, looking down to pick a line in total silence. It was like a religious experience. smile.gif

Being up there with just a couple buddy's looking down then dropping in is one of the most amazing things I've been able to do. You described it perfectly. Tin can is in turnigan pass a little south of girdwood, never got to do heli rides but we shuttled it on snowmobiles dropping people off up top while we took turns rider driver with couple sleds. My time is Valdez was during king of the hill competitions whenwe woukd go out to watch our favorite pros compete on the gnarliest terrain I've ever watch a human being ride down in front of me. Alaskas rad. I most likely going up in summer to fish out of cooper landing. Can't wait. Thanks for stokin me out buddy. biggrin.gif

Not quite as dramatic but where I live a lot of the farmers have huge mastif dogs to guard and herd their livestock. One night a friend was driving home in the fog and this huge animal came out of nowhere, slammed in to the side of his car and knocked the car off the road and in to a ditch. It was one of the mastifs out protecting a flock of sheep.

Palacios - you are so right man smile.gif In here traveling is pretty much affordable for everyone and usually - at least in the case of my country, it's cheaper to spend 7 days at the Greek seaside than at ours.

Tony - yes indeed! A sort of pilgrimage that would open a person's eyes and mind smile.gif

If everything goes right I will reach Tokyo this year... But I started doubting it, as I that flight offer I was waiting for, doesn't seem to appear anymore sad.gif
