Ok, Ive watched videos ad seen friends play and always wanted to ask....

Whats the best method to rest your picking hand on the guitar?

Some rest their pinky below the pickup to provide anchorage....
Some float their hand and use their forearm as an anchor....

Im a floater but Im starting to use my pinky, which feels ackward, but it does train your picking hand to strain and.. pain is gain, actually from a scientific perspective, the brain learns more from pain and strain so relatively, it will learn to adapt and provide better accuracy. u think?

Anyway, whats your insight into the picking hand placement?

Whats up guys

Just joined today but Ive been visting this site for months deciding ...hmmmm... should I... or... keep playing the same damn scale for the next few years. laugh.gif

Ive been playing guitar for the last 20 years or so but strictly drunken garage band stuff way back in the day. Got married, dropped the guitar to pay bills and raise kids. (Wife explained to me that sex drugs and rock n' roll didnt make a good husband) lol

But I'm back !! yes, im still married, I tamed the wife!

Anyway, with so much stuff on here, its mind boggling. I'm not a noob but I really do need to get back to basics and stuff.

Any suggeestions on where to start?

Thanks!
