The Dubliners DID NOT do the origional. Whisky In The Jar had been around for about 250 years before The Dubliners done their cover.

Being that I'm a good Irish lad who originally hails from Cork of the three it's The Dubliners- Metallica's take on Thin Lizzy is good but I find the mid-Atlantic accent a bit incongruous.
Hungus is correct - it's a traditional Irish song. Best version I can remember of Whiskey though was a live gig by The Pogues - great band live, wonderful craic.- BTW for aggression The Pogues, Wolfe Tones and so on doing Irish rebel songs will knock others into next week  .Cheers, Tony -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer.
