A Good Quality Low Priced Acoustic ?

Hi all

i am looking to buy a decent in quality acoustic guitar , i have been playing electric for 5 years and would say i am an intermediate player.

Would love to start playing some acoustic songs.

Price range would be £300 - £400 or cheaper.

What would be my best options ?

Brand new? Check out Yamaha, Ibanez, Simon and Patrick, Art and Lutherie, Ovation, Seagull, Faith, Ozark, Indie etc!!!
There are many, many manufacturers producing quality instruments in that price range.
Check on eBay for some used stuff and you'll double your options!

Go for either a Spruce or Cedar top with either Rosewood or Mahogany Sides and back.

For that money you can get a decent acoustic guitar.

The only recommendation I can give you is that the guitar should have a solid top, not a laminate. Guitars with solid tops sound much better.

Visit your guitar shop and try all guitars in that price range and see which one will be the best for you smile.gif

then you'll have a guitar for life, have one and the feel and sound of it really pleases me

I recommend Takamine as well, I've tested many acoustic guitar in stores, and I liked the price/performance of Takamine the best. They are not "the best" of course, as preferences are different, so I suggest you spend some time testing out as much as you can. It's the only way to tell what's good for you and what's not.

Yeah, the price/performance ratio of Takamine is pretty amazing!
Although their best ones is up there with Gibsons and Martins in my opinion,
but they also cost alot biggrin.gif
I had their top model a little while back, a jumbo.
It was amazing soundwise, but unfortunately it was quite big for little old me sad.gif
But my Guild is right up there as well, and smaller smile.gif

I would also recommend Takamine! You should go to the store and try them out and see which one sounds best to you. You should also try out some high end (priced) acoustics to have a nice comparison when choosing. smile.gif
