GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Behringer V-amp2

Posted by: lefty01 Nov 17 2007, 09:52 PM

Hi fellow GMC'ers.
I wanted to let you all know, I got a new toy. I just got the Behringer V-Amp2. This thing is really cool. It has amazing sounds, and the price was great too...about:$100.00/USA. www.behringer.com
I think of it as the "poor-man's" POD. smile.gif If I'm not mistaken, I think Kris used one of these units before he got his POD. Kris? If you see this, any settings you remeber that would be useful?
Have a great day everyone! smile.gif

Congrats!

I actually started with a pod ( I bought one as soon as they hit the market the very first time), I sold it for a vamp, an dthen I sold they vamp to buy a pod...and now I kind of regret it all! dry.gif

Both were actually good for different things! smile.gif

The Vamp was perfect for metal and "clinically" clean stuff.

Wow...you trade effects as much as I do. I actually got a Korg Pandora a month or so ago, and cannot get it to sound good...already sold it. I plugged in the V-Amp, and got a decent tone right away. I was told the Behringer is very poor in sound compared to the POD, but I really like how it sounds. Maybe I'll save up and get a POD, but I have a lot more to work on as a player biggrin.gif

I've been on a POD 2.0 for awhile now, and want to upgrade to the X3 but it's too expensive, so I'm going for the V-Amp for now, cause I can get it for a very good price. Apparently the distortions are better than the POD?
I think it's good to own both for variety
