Lovely! I've never tried the real thing but it's one of my favorite amp emulations in Fractal. From what I know, the second channel in Archetype Plini is also this one, and it's my favorite plugin ever.

Another amp that I really enjoy in Fractal is Suhr Badger. I should try the real thing anytime.

Cute and inexpensive but that just sounds like a distortion pedal to me.
Which I think it actually is. A BE-OD with a power amp attached to it.

Correct but think of it more like a super pedal. So instead of buying the pedal and hoping it will go along with an amp, this is more like guarantied to sound good with more eq'ing controls as bonus.

But rather than routing fx loop for line recording, a dedicated ir loader onboard would have been better as they're also getting cheaper everyday.

I don't think it sounds that good personally. It has the same EQ, volume and gain and tight/loose switch as the pedal. It's just a distortion pedal into a solid state power amp into a speaker cabinet.

I have a his DS pedal which is based on his Dirty Shirley amp. Going into one of my tube amps, even a cheap Blues Junior - it sounds pretty great.

I do agree that an IR loader would have been a much better feature rather than an FX loop.

There are a ton of Mini heads hitting the market recently. They are sorta fun to be sure smile.gif It's handy to have it in a small package and would make a handy practice amp with a cab. I have to agree with KEN that it doesn't sound quite as good as I was hoping for a BE. It sounds a lot like the distortion pedal and a solid state amp, which is what is going on. When turned down all the way on gain and rolled back on the guitar, it only cleans up so far. It's not meant to be more than a one trick pony though. Probably the cheapest way in to an Friedman amp : )

Here is fluff talking about some of his faves
