I use the bookmarks for those I have learned in some fashion, and for the current new one I am working on at present (I learn one new one at a time).

I will learn 150, not one more, not one less, after 150 I am done, I have decided that. At that point I create my own stuff. If 150 lessons covering a wide variety of genre's don't cut it, I should take up basket weaving or something.

My interest in lessons here at GMC is still kind of bigger than my hands can handle. Working on it though. Actually, it reminds me I really need to finish through one and move on...I seem to have a nasty habit of obsessing on some small part of a lesson and get stuck there til I'm really happy with it.

Fkalich, pretty long and awesome list you got there, how long have you been playing?

Been playing a year and 9 months. I plan to have 100 lessons down at 2 years. Provided I ever get past #75. That is Muris 2 string arpeggios. That is a brain teaser, as Muris states. However, I feel it is very useful.

I cycle through lessons in order, in the order they appear in bookmarks. I printed out tabs of all of them in two sets, and I cycle though them in the order in which they appear on bookmarks. I use the two sets because one set is a fast cycle where I just spend a just little time on a lesson, making sure I remember it and just maybe improving it a bit, the other set is a slow cycle where I spend more time on a lesson. I cycle though both set simultaneously. That seems to work for me. One set keeps me in touch with everything within a few weeks. On the other I try to really try and improve significantly on the lesson, so that one cycles quite slowly.

The way I deal with it is as follows: I work intensely with one to three lessons at a time. I then record my own efforts at a certain stage, when I feel more or less confident with the material. When I'm sort of pleased with the result, I delete the lesson from bookmarks. So far I only have worked on Raindrops, Rock solo, Funk Rythm lesson and Blues soloing. And I've only deleted one lesson from the list! (I really wish I had more time....)

150 lessons are a good number I think that it's also important to listen to different styles to develop your creativity. Playing with other people should help too.
