Dude you have to save every penny for the 2010 Ibanez lineup!!!

Just kidding, Godin are nice guitars. Wasn't you Yamaha kinda rare?! To trade it for a 500$ guitar...

i will be saving trust me wink.gif

there is a method to my madness by the way wink.gif

these godins (because they are newer) have a higher resale value. They sell for about 300-350 on the used market. The yamaha gets from 250-300 if i am lucky, because yamaha is not popular.

one other problem is that my yamaha is starting to suffer from bad fret wear sad.gif causing a dead spot on the 12th fret of most the strings.

and the last reason for the trade, is that this guitar screams mods. since it is running only 1 pick up and 1 volume knob, there is a lot of room in that big electronics cavity to do some fun modding. One of them is going to be an EMG EQ knob for sure, not sure what else i will do. should turn out into a fun project, and if need to sell it, i can still get back a decent amount of money smile.gif

Surely it has to be worth re-fretting Marc?

i thought about that one long and hard...but the average cost of a refretting here is $150-200. I will not even attempt to do it myself because i have never done it,

and my normal tech doesnt do them anymore so i would have to take it to an overly priced place.

i will miss my yamaha, but i am always on the ever lasting quest to find that one company i can stick with smile.gif

ibanez was the closest for me, and i might even go back some day, but for now, i journey on!
