That chart is really cool.
Sinisa has the same approach like me when it comes to mixing. I separate all instruments per track and start adding one by one slowly into the mix. I do know some stuff about frequencies but I mostly rely on what I hear. You have to know how to listen to your monitors whether they produce enough bass, middle etc... Test on as many hi-fi devices as you can to make sure that it sounds good on each.
