Hey GMCers,
I have a question: every now and then we see a GMC lesson where one of our instructors is playing a lesson and then the screen is split in two where in one little corner a solo is played and for the rest of the video the rhythm is played (or other way around).
Example: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Progressive-Metal-Heat/
Could anyone who knows this kind of stuff please tell me how to achieve this? What software to use and how to do it ?? Preferably I would want to use a free software, like iMovie or something equivalent.
Thanks a bunch,
Cheers
Unaware of any free software that does it. Although I think the budget version of Sony Vegas can do this (less than $100 I think). I use Sony Vegas 9, a bit older as I think 11 is out, but if you want to add layers of videos, with cropping and resizing I think its usually going to be a paid software in the end.
I do it with Sony Vegas and also with Adobe Premiere, I've never used a video editing free software...
Thanks guys for all the information. I have a mac but my iMovie version is a bit old (since my mac is old). When I use the advanced tools in imovie and copy and put the second video on the first one, it just adds it, doesn't combine them into one movie. But well, at least now I know it is possible with imovie.
Thanks Todd I actually have a version that is older I got my mac before mac became very popular really. I haven't found any info for my version. I think I will be able to do this kind of stuff once I upgrade my computer
