GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Best Guitar With A Whammy Bar?

Posted by: Tom_Cop Apr 9 2008, 07:27 PM

Hi Guys, need some help. Looking at buying a new guitar, around £400-600 with a whammy bar/floyd rose. I play pretty much any style, a lot of metal and bluesy styles though.

Any Suggestions on decent models?

How about the KH-202? I got mine kind of recently and I couldn't be much happier with it. A lot of people say the pick-ups on it aren't great but I think they are awesome, personal taste I guess. The whammy bar isn't original floyd rose but I don't know how many guitars in this price range will have one. The licensed model, however is fine if you ask me.

The neck on it is super fast too. It's a sweet guitar but, if you aren't a Metallica fan it might not be for you since it is Kirk's signature after all.

I think it's in the 400-500 USD price range. Not sure in euros.

hm, maybe try some Ibanez models, and make sure it's a good quality whammy. They are not too good quality in the price range.

try a used s series with the ZR trem....you will love it. Best trem on the block.

I think the Ibanez have the best whammy, but not the cheap models, check out the models with edge zero, edge pro or zr trem.

Guys, he can get plenty of good whammys in that price range. It's not $400-600, its $800-1200 tongue.gif

Yes but he must be careful, sometimes whammys are not that good in that price range. It would be different if he had like 2000$, no worries for whammy quality there, so no need to mention it smile.gif
