Hello Zen,

We are continuing our work in July now! For your 1st assignment I have decided to assign you more of Cycle 4 and Cycle 5. Lets get to work straight away.

1st Assignment :
Dorian mode through Cycle 4

- Record a backing track based on cycle 4 starting on D minor
- Make every chord 2 bars long!
- Play corresponding major scales two octaves ascending starting on root first time around the whole progression.
- Play corresponding major scales two octaves descending starting on root second time around the whole progression.
- Use constant 8th note rhythm and the last note in the scale should be root tied (you will see wink.gif
- Backing track can just be rhythm guitar with metronome click but you are welcome to do much more !
- Use whatever picking seems most natural to you to play those scales (alternate, economy, legato etc)
- Post your work in audio and/or video format in this thread here.
- Tempo of your choice !

Deadline for this assignment is 12th of July!
If you complete this assignment before the deadline I will give you 2nd assignment before the deadline!!!

Let me know if you got some questions,

Pedja

Pedja, Apologies for the delay. I didn't start on D min unfortunately but on C since I already was using the backing starting at that chord. Some timing issues but my sore hands are not workin well with guitar nowdays sad.gif .. Hope this is ok to proceed.

Zen sounds good man! Lydian sounds great with those powerchords. Makes you wonder why Satriani and Vai love to use it biggrin.gif
Lets do assignment 3 another study for cycles (this time you can do Phrygian mode!!!) and for last assignment lets pick something for REC!

Let me know what you would like for REC.

Phrygian was cool Zen. I enjoyed those pictures - very nice guitars. You kinda matched clothes with the first one hehe
Yeah, see what you can find for REC. I don't want to give you too easy nor too difficult tune since we have 5 days left. Lets see what you can do smile.gif
