---------------UPDATE-------------
OK, I started this thread but then relised that I have absolutly no time to create such a massive guide as there is so much to do with the POD XT/X3 From now on I will create a new Q&A thread about the POD XT/X3 as there is quite alot of things people ask. LINK TO Q&A: POD XT/X3 Q&A Ahoy hoy and welcome to the Guitarists Guide To The POD XT Live. This guide will be updated over a period of time since there is a massive amount of things to be wrote about. Now, first of all, let's get the introduction done first... It's a good place to start. --------------------------INTRODUCTION--------------------------------- Who is this guide for? This guide is here to help you find out what the POD XT Live can really do, If you're thinking about buying a POD or if you just cant be bothered to read that pretty thick manual then this is the place for you. Also, im guessing that most of this information will be usefull for those with the POD XT (not the Live version) This guide will also be updated for the POD X3 Live. Who this guide is NOT for. Anyone wanting information about the PocketPOD, POD 2.0 or any other type of POD that isnt the POD XT or POD XT Live. Why are you making this guide? I'm making thing guide because i'm bored. ...aaaaand to help out people using my experience with the POD XT Live What is a POD XT Live? A POD XT Live is a multi effects pedal, an amp modeller and pretty much anything but your kitchen sink. The POD XT and POD XT Live are both pretty much the same, however the POD XT Live includes a floorboard to allow easy change of effects/models/etc aswell as an included expression pedal... thats right... WAHWAH!!!!!! (the expression pedal can also control other things but more on that later) --------------------CONTENTS--------------------- [1a] - MODELS [1b] - AMP MODELS [1c] - CABINET MODELS [1d] - EFFECT MODELS ------------------[1a]The Models-------------------- Ok, the models are what make the POD XT such a great machine. The models in the POD XT are "simulations" of amplifiers. Line6 have tried to recreate the sound of many different amplifiers, cabinets and effects and in my opinion, have succeded. You can choose to simulate any setup you like (e.g. Marshal 1968 Jump Channel going through a 4x12 Mesa/Boogie cabinet along with a Tubescreamer, Small Room Reverb and a little Stereo Chorus. along with the option of a volume pedal and a Vetta Wah) Below i have listed all of the amp models, cabinet models and effect models that come as standard with the POD XT Live. -----------------[1b]AMP MODELS------------------ Line 6® Clean Line 6® JTS-45 Line 6® Class A Line 6® Mood Line 6® Spinal Puppet Line 6® Chemical X Line 6® Insane Line 6® Piezacoustic 2 Line 6® Agro Line 6® Lunatic Line 6® Treadplate Line 6® Variax Acoustic Budda 2001 Twinmaster Fender® 1953 Deluxe Reverb® Fender® 1958 Bassman® Fender® 1961 Champ® Fender® 1964 Deluxe Reverb® Fender® 1965 Twin Reverb® Gretsch® 1960 6156 Hiwatt® 1973 Custom 100 Marshall® 1966 JTM-45 Marshall® 1968 Super Lead Marshall® 1968 Jump Channel Marshall® 1968 Variac Plexi Marshall® 1987 JCM 800 Marshall® 1996 JMP-1 Matchless® 1996 Chieftain Matchless® 1993 DC-30 Mesa/Boogie® 2001 Dual Rectifier® Mesa/Boogie® Mark IIc+ Roland® Jazz Chorus 120 Soldano 1993 SLO-100 Supro 1960's S6616 Vox® 1961 AC-15 Vox® 1967 AC-30TB Tube Preamp Marshall® 1974X (18W Reissue) Marshall® JCM 2000 w/ Germ Pedal Orange AD30TC Vox® Fawn Non-Top Boost AC30 Dumble® Clean Soldano SP88 ----------------[1c]CABINET MODELS--------------- 6x9 Supro® S6616 1x8 1961 Fender® Tweed Champ® 1x10 Gibson® 1x10 Gretsch® 6156 1x12 Line 6® 1x12 1953 Fender® Tweed Deluxe Reverb® 1x12 1964 Fender® Blackface Deluxe Reverb® 1x12 1960 Vox® AC-15 1X15 1962 Supro® Thunderbolt 2x2 Fender® Mini Twin Reverb® 2x12 Line 6® 2x12 1965 Fender® Blackface Twin Reverb® 2x12 1995 Matchless® Chieftain 2x12 Roland® JC-120 2x12 1967 Vox® AC-30 2X12 1967 Silvertone® Twin Twelve 4x10 Line 6® 4x10 1959 Fender® Bassman® 4x12 Line 6® 4x12 1967 Marshall® Basketweave with Greenbacks 4x12 1968 Marshall® Basketweave with Greenbacks 4x12 1978 Marshall® with stock 70s 4x12 1996 Marshall® with Vintage 30s 4x12 Mesa/Boogie® ----------------[1d]EFFECT MODELS---------------- LA-2A® Compressor Noise Gate Fuzz Face Big Muff Pi® Tubescreamer® ProCo Rat Octavia CS-1 Comp/Sustainer Dynacomp Vetta™ Comp Auto Swell Mutron III Line 6® Sine Chorus Line 6® Flanger A/DA® Flanger MXR® Phase 90 Uni-Vibe Opto Tremolo model from the 1965 Fender® Deluxe Reverb® Bias Tremolo model from 1960 Vox® AC-15 Leslie® 145 Vibratone Auto-pan Boss® DM-2 Deluxe Memory Man EP-1 Tube Echoplex Roland® RE-101 Space Echo Sweep Echo Line 6® Digital Delay Line 6® Stereo Delay Ping Pong Delay Reverse Delay Fender® Deluxe Spring Reverb Fender® Twin Spring Reverb King Spring Reverb Small Room Reverb Tiled Room Reverb Brite Room Reverb Dark Hall Reverb Medium Hall Reverb Large Hall Reverb Rich Chamber Reverb Chamber Reverb Cavernous Reverb Slap Plate Reverb Vintage Plate Reverb Large Plate Reverb Vetta Wah Vox® V847 Wah Custom Vox® V847 Wah Colorsound Wah-Fuzz Maestro® Boomerang Wah Jen Electronics Cry Baby Super Wah RMC Real McCoy 1 Wah Arbiter® Cry Baby Wah Sub Octaves Synth Effect Digitech Whammy Pitch Effect Maestro® Bass Brassmaster Sans Amp Tube Driver Volume (Pre- or Post-Amp Routing options) Post-EQ Line 6® Killer Z Chandler Tube Driver Vetta™ Juice Line 6® Gain Boost Boss® CS-1 w/ treble switch on Mutron III Down Line 6® Clean Sweep Line 6® Seizmik Synth Line 6® Double Bass Line 6® Buzz Wave Line 6® Rez Synth Line 6® Ring Modulator Line 6® Synth Analog Line 6® Synth FX Line 6® Synth Harmony Moog Lead ARP Solina/Elka® Strings Square CE-1 Chorus Line 6® Stereo Chorus Line 6® Random Chorus Line 6® Stereo Flange Line 6® Exponential Flange Line 6® Lumpy Phase Line 6® Hi Talk Line 6® Sweeper Line 6® POD™ Purple X Line 6® Sample and Hold Line 6® Tape Eater Line 6® Warble-Matic Binson EchoRec Maestro® EP-3 Echoplex® Line 6® Low Rez Delay Line 6® Phaze Eko Line 6® Bubble Echo This guide will be updated with more information when I have time. Are you including the model pack (that you download from the net) or the effects that come with it?
I dont intend on buying any other effects pedal or model packs, will this pedal do for a hi gain metal sound? (My friend refunded his cause he 'claims' he had a POD XTL and it did not suit the metal unless you buy the metal pack, so he refunded his) This post has been edited by jammer91: Oct 25 2007, 01:26 AM -------------------- _____________________________________________________

the POD XT has many amp settings that will suit metal. even without the metal pack.
before i bought the metal pack i was using the Dual rectifier setting or the JCM2000. all of the packs above are the things that come WITH the POD XTL. I will add a list of addon packs/etc when i next update the guide. this guide will end up being quite a large guide however so it will take some time to get through everything. thanks -------------------- Guitars: Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ Dual EMG 81 Pickups. I have a question here.. I've owned a PodXTL for just over a year, however I cant figure out how to "kick start" the wah. I've heard that there is a way to just switch on wah by stomping on the expression without going into the settings. Is that correct or was I misinformed? hehe Its like a regular wah - you have to lean your body weight on the pedal when it is fully down (i.e. flat), lean on the top half and it will click in. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I didn't know that there were this pedalboard. Is it possible to control POD devices via it? Is it possible to control Toneport maybe?
