I just got a new POD XT Live a few hours ago. The problem is that im unable to get any sound out my amp (infact i dont really understand how to use this pedal, its really complex). I read the manual a few times and i couldnt understand much from there either.

The rig im using is:
-Epiphone 1967 Flying V Guitar
-A Vox Valvetronix AD30VT amp
-All new POD XTL
-2 instrument cables

First and foremost, im not even sure if im connecting my equipment together right. My Vox amp has no effects loop so ive put a instrument cable going from the POD XTL output to my amp input (not sure if i should put it through the left or right in the POD's output). So heres how the circuiting goes.

1-My Guitar is connected to the POD's Input
2- From the POD ive connected another wire from the POD's output (not sure if its left or right, none of the give any sound and ive put it on amp setting), to my amps Input.

Still no sound comes. Am i doing anthing wrong here?

Secondly in the manual i saw a long list of effects of Amp models and Cabs. When i go through the bank i noticed theyve mixed effects with amps and theres on 32 in A,B,C,D. Whats the point of having a ABCD? And where do we look if we want a particular amp model?

Im looking for the line 6 insane and a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier model.

This is really confusing and frustrating for me as im unable to use it. THe POD features may be good but in my opinion its just not user friendly.

If theres any information i missed out please let me know.

Thanks

First test your amp without the pod. Put it around medium volume settings if it works. On the POD set the master volume to half. Test to see if you hear your POD when connected through your headphones. Then make sure you are connecting the cable from your guitar to Guitar IN on the POD and then the cable from live out r/mono or l/mono (doesn't matter) to your amp input (where you would plug in your guitar without the pod). Play around with volume settings and make sure you test both cables to make sure one isn't dead.

Say you have bank 32 and A B C and D. You could say ok, I want to play the Collab settings for Kris and Marcus's song. You could have set up the Rythym patch on A, the Solo patch on B, and anyother things on the other two if you had more presets to use. So Just tap A for rythym and then go into the solo by tapping B. I'd tell you how to search through the amps but I have the POD X3 Live and its slightly different.

Thanks for your help preowned,
I did all that:
-Tested my amp without the POD
-Checked the cables to verify if they arent dead
-Connected my Guitar into my Pod input, then going through my Pods output to my amps input.

The problem is i only have standard headphones (the ones with small jacks).

I now think its a problem with my amp. Its a Vox AD30VT and it has no effects loop.

It has two amp settings preset and manual. Im setting it at manual, on the clean channel with the master volume and volume all the way up and all other stuff like treble, bass in the mid.

Also the volume on my POD XTL is all the way up.

Still no sound response out of my amp sad.gif . I went throught the quick start guide a few times and double checked my connections still no help.

Thanks a lot guys, i solved (dont know how) and it works fine.

Theres another problem now. Im a noob at editing presets so i decided to download line 6 monkey and line 6 edit. line 6 monkey downloaded fine but does not detect my POD XTL (many people are facing this problem in th l6 forums). Whats worse is that l6 edit does not download at all (i click accept but it still doesnt download, so can someone who has it please send the .exe file to me).

And one more slight issue. My expression pedal is set to volume. How do i switch it to wah?

Thanks a lot for your support till here, really appreciate it.

you can easily switch the pedal from volume to wha by a quick setting (sorry i don't know how to explain it, see your doc first, it's explained at "edit")

for downloading, the page seems to be here http://line6.com/software/index.html
it works !

You can set your pedal to wah by pressing it down all the way. Don't worry you won't break it. smile.gif
