Mixing Pickups, Just a quickie question

Dec 25 2007, 01:09 PM	Learning Roadie Posts: 2.267 Joined: 27-September 07 From: Telford.Shropshire.England	Hi guys can i mix differant makes of pickups i currently have Middle/Neck Seymour Duncan STK-S1n Classic Stack Noise-Canceling Series for Stratocasters bridge Seymour Duncan TB-4 JB Humbucker i just really want to change the bridge with one of these but not sure if i can mix brands(stupid question maybe) Here is what iam looking at i dont want active though Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker™ Humbucker EMG-H4 stan hinesley pickups Rogue Humbucker The body is alder and i play mostly classic rock(Van Halen try to! Each manifacturer uses different color codes for each wire. It wont hurt anything if you hook it up wrong (unless active pickups), but it wont work right if you dont research the proper info from each manifacturer. If you're thinking of using the bridge pu for one style and the neck pu for another you could mix very different style pu's with eachother. But if you like me try to keep pickups that match eachother beaware that too much creativity and your guitar is off the chart.
