Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Wyverex!

Congrats on your first take! Your recording is very promising. I don't find really dramatic issues in your playing but there are off course some elements that need special attention, and more days of practice.

Based on this take, there are two aspects in which you should focus:

- Timing: The timing issues are not big but this is the main thing to improve in your take. This can be related to concentration so once you can play this one more naturally you'll be able to think on playing each detail tight. In general you tend to rush a bit some arrangements, mostly those that incorporate some palm muting. The problem become a bit more notorious in the section at 00:36 (pre-chorus)

- Vibrato: The vibrato is weak in the pre-chorus and lacking on the chorus. I wonder if you usually play vibrato when soloing. A good trick to be able to make vibrato stronger is to use other fingers to help the one that it doing the vibrato. Check out some vibrato lessons to see what I mean.

Ok friend, this is a really good first step. Keep going!

Hi, well done on putting your first take in the REC Zone. I was impressed with your overall delivery. Not bad at all.

Gabriel mentioned your timing. It was only very minor.. nothing to worry about too much. I'd say that your timing is actually a strong point. It's only when you have to change from one position to another that there may be a small fluctuation but it's only occasionally.

Vibrato - yes, at the moment it's quite weak but this is a rhythm lesson so I'm not going to hold it against you too much wink.gif I've got some vibrato lesson if you do want to work on it though. I recommend number 5 for breaking down the movement, although learning the classical style might benefit you as well due to you using the classical hand position

Apart from those areas, it's mainly just needing to polish your position shifting. Little things like the finger moving away from a note too early in order to get to the next one. All these little things need to become more natural for the piece to flow but these things are improved mainly with time and experience rather than an immediate fix.

Keep up the good work.

Hey and congrats on your first take smile.gif

As Gabriel said - there are no critical mistakes here and your take is pleasant to listen. There are in fact some details to improve, You need to watch for any unnecessary movements of your hands at the moments of breaks/pauses. We can notice some unwanted noises and scratches. Both of your hands look very good - properly shaped. I have a feeling like your powerchords -especially E, are not always played properly. You ten to hit one string instead of two or your hit is a little too weak...or you mute one of wanted strings, occasionally with one of your left hand fingers.
