So I was looking at washburn's new website and i came across this beauty
It's the WI45 model in flame trans red!
http://www.washburn.com/electrics/idol-series/Page-2.html
Every things seems great on it and i've played washburns before and LOVED them
however it has two randall pickups and i can't find ANY info on them but they are used on a signature model so im guessing they're not TOO bad.
Anyone know much about them or where i can find info?
thanks smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

I have to admit I didn't even know that Randall also builds pickups, I only knew their amps.

nope, nothing out there, this was the most info I could find on them.

" Randall humbucking pickups, which have been specifically created to sonically match and strengthen the performance of any guitar amp tone. The engineers at Randall developed the humbucking pickups to further enhance the experience of playing a solid-body guitar in tandem with a premium amplifier"

I'd go with the more expensive model that comes with the SD pickups..

I agree with fatb0t, if you wanna be safe, I'd recommend the more expensive model. But if you decide to buy the model which has the Randall pickups, and if you don't like the pickups you can always just swap them to Duncan's or Dimarzio's etc.

You can always swap the pickups mate if you don't like them. Pickups are easily swappable and lot of people change them when they get a guitar.

Hmm, those VCC controls could be tricky for changing the pups, you're maybe right man. I would check out with their support service if they have one. E mail them about this question, they should reply.

Really nice guitar indeed !!

Better ask the support service as Ivan suggested to be sure, but technically i don't see a problem to change the pickups with any other 4 conductor humbucker. I guess instead of using a 5-way switch to split the pickups, the pot is doing the job to fade one coil from on to off. Nice feature by the way. smile.gif
