Hey Andrew!
 This topic will be used for commenting all of your videos! Comment on your take on Marcus Lavendell´s Neoclassic Lesson for Intermediates. I see that you have already some experience with playing guitar as you fingers are flexible. However, you need to work on precision. This take was a bit sloppy (as you already said via MSN  ), but let´s try to improve it.First of all, slow down! That´s essential if you want to play cleanly. You know what you have to do with both hands, but they aren´t synchronized. Daniel Capezzuto´s Finger Independence Series is an excellent exercice to work on that. Try to play those patterns with alternate and economy picking and only down/up strokes. You also mentioned that you use your pinky very rarely. Take a look at all those shredders like Rob Marcello, Steve Vai,... . All of them don´t hesitate to use their pinky. Your pinky is your best friend and useful.  Take a look at Dejan Farka´s Little Finger Workout.All in all, I want to start working on your hand synchronization and finger strength. Those few lessons that I gave you are perfect to use as warm-ups in your practise routine. If you see an improvement after a week or more, please post another video and we´ll have a closer look at the other points. And don´t hesitate to ask me if you have any questions!Cheers, Tolek |

Comment on your Sweeping Attempt #1
Honestly, you learnt that technique very fast! It´s not perfect, though. You should pay more attention on muting. I wanted to do a video for you to show you that, but Pavel Denisjuk explains it very well in that lesson that I gave you as homework. Just keep practising and don´t forget the metronome. You should start with 8th triplets at say 80 bpm and raise the tempo by 1 or 2 bpm every day. Then you can start with 16th triplets at 80 and do the same process. After some months of hard practise, you´ll be sweeping like Michael Angelo Batio.  Can´t wait for it, so start with it!

Yeah the part that gets me is the changing of direction at the end of the sweep,I dont think its possible for me to sweep like MAB haha he is a mutant! But honestly I will probably concentrate more on this weeks group lesson as it is significantly more important than sweeping . I am not sure if I am progressing in learning the notes or not

Comment on your take of the Jimi Hendrix Lesson.
Again an excellent take, mate! Timing was perfect and the notes were ok, too. Nothing to correct, just keep practising and you´ll find improvising in that style as easy as sleeping. Oh, and I forgot to mention in your sweep attempt that you could try to play on the clean channel, so that you can hear better what you are playing. |

Comment on your take #2 (Neoclassical)
Better than before! Timing was excellent again. Only the bends are a bit out of pitch, you should try to pay more attention on the bends. So, the next lesson might be a bit tricky for you: BENDINGS!. For sure, this is going to automate pitch control while bending.By the way, you are posting a lot videos and I gave you much lessons to practise. I don´t want to overload you! Plus, it is better to practise few things and do it detailed than to practise a lot and do it not in detail. So, I personally would suggest to try to post more videos of your improvement (as you did just now) and then when you nailed a lesson to continue with the next one. Do you agree?

Do you agree?Agree my system is usually before I am confident I will submit it and get critique to make sure I dont finish the lesson poorly, like the other vids ive posted I've now finished those lessons and corrected my errors. I usually do not post a finished lesson , You can't overload me . I've learned teh C Maj scale over the entire fretboard now so I just have to go back and solidify the notes in my brain so that lesson is coming well and I already knew the chord theory and voicings from the first group lesson. The sweeping is coming well but I think it might be the wrong thing to practice at this point as I stated in my other post . Thanks very much for the feedback I will hit those bends!

Comment on your bending take
You said this this lesson is very difficult for you. I gave you that one because it had a lot of different bendings, but I didn´t care about your basics. That´s not good!  Honestly, some bends were ok, but others were too high or too low or too fast or whatever. And that´s why I think we should start on a lower level. This bending lesson by Wallimann is definitely good for beginners and for those who have problems with control of their bendings. Is this ok? Comment on your Master of Puppets Solo I´m not sure about the cleaness of your playing because of the recording quality.  I try to give the best comments that are possible. First of all, you seem really rushed. Take your time and slow everything down until you feel comfortable. Then you can progressively speed up. Consequently, your playing will feel and seem more relaxed and more comfortable. Second... Nothing! I can only say that you play pretty good, but you didn´t care much about the details. That´s exactly how I looked some time ago! I started paying attention to details and moving as little as possible. I became much better! You´re on the good way to become a first-class player! |
