This guy thinks that tons of folks bought gear while being stuck at home from covid for the past bit and that these guitars are going to flood the market as we return to normal. Certainly I've seen used prices head north in the past couple years and especially on Ibanez guitars. Is he right? Do you think all these folks are gonna give up on guitar and flood the market with used gear?

Maybe.
I hope so but so far and judging by my Reverb wish list, prices are still up.

I wouldn't expect it to be sudden+ inflation specific to USA is affected so though lower not expecting prices pre-covid to return.

I was thinking the same thing. I fear he may be a bit off the mark in his predictions. I have not seen any dip in prices of late. Everything still seems a bit inflated price wise.

I think you are spot on. I don't see pre covid prices coming back any time soon. I do hope we are wrong on that but it sure doesn't seem likely.

It's plausible I suppose but probably not in the short term. On the other hand, I have a few pieces of gear listed now for reasonable prices and I haven't even had any offers.
Music gear on Craigslist doesn't really seem to be moving up here for a while now.

Maybe it's regional? It seems that prices at guitar center and on reverb/ebay for stuff in the lower 48 has been seeing price hikes for a while now. I hope it eventually evens out. smile.gif

Yeah maybe so. I haven't been to a local music store in a while so I don't really know what's going on there, but used prices don't seem to be bad and there are some deals to be had but there doesn't seem to be a lot of sales being made.

Global supply chain is still screwed and will be for a while so new guitar availability is going to be an issue keeping prices high

I fear your analysis is spot on. It's been in a pickle for a while now. Hope springs eternal of course. smile.gif i don't think we are going to see a flood of cheap used guitars per the chap in the vid. It would be great if that happens but I can't see it going that way just yet.
