Key Change Within A Song

HI GABRIEL,

If i write a song in the key of E MINOR and my solo is in the key of G MAJOR whats the best way to accomplish this.
I know these scales share the same notes but I want the change to the solo to stand out in a unigue way.I guess i'm
confused on how to make these scales stand out from each other since they share the same notes.Please Help

The uniqueness of the solo could be if you emphasize on the major-feel of the G major as compared to the minor feel of E minor, even though they share the same notes. Instead of staying in the E minor pentatonic box, if that is what you do, try to whip out some licks that utilizes some of the characteristics of a major scale smile.gif

Yeah, but even the change from E minor to G major should be evident, because of the different intervals between notes. The G major scale does sound different from E minor, even though they have the same note. If you have a solo in G major, it should sound happier than the E minor parts. If you have some underlying major chords, which it seems to do, that would emphasize it even more.
