Look at the second video of Trond's lesson. 30 seconds in he shows you how he rakes his thumb across the string as it's being picked. This is where the term "pinched" comes from. As your picking and touch the string, it produces the harmonic. Different guitars will have different "sweet spot's" as well in order to generate a good sounding hormonic. Also, players have different ways of achieving a this but personally, I think Trond's technique is great!
