Hi, Emir - I treasure your music. Lately I been working on the Rock Ballad Solo.
I did some takes yesterday and today and I don't think it's good enough yet. I
think no one will ever play it as good as you, but I do not want to ruin it -
please know this is only practice. I want to submit this to the REC sometime
in 2 weeks and would like any advise you have. I was kidding and joking a bit
in some parts of these takes just for fun - so don't take it personally, only
because I am not so good. I wish I could jam with you some day. Anyway, what
I really need is your expert advise, if you will do me the honor. Thanks!

Well you got the notes Everything else needs much more work. Don't rush to submit it like this

Here are some problems I noticed:

- You almost always start every phrase before the actual beat. That's especially the case with that long phrygian dominant scale starting from the 13th fret all the way up to the 6th string. That's way before the beat 1. Wait for the drums to come to that point then start those 16th triplets.

- When I say 16th triplets, those need to be executed within the correct time frame relative to the tempo of course. Slow down and break the phrase into groups of 6 notes. 6 notes = 1 metronome beat. The last A note should also finish on the beat no. 1 of the next bar.

- Vibrato was good when you use floyd rose but normal vibrato with the wrist is not really near acceptable range. Work on that as well.

- I noticed that you always slide down and up the neck between phrases uncounciously. You just lose control by doing that. It's an unnecessary long jump and you may well miss the note by doing that. Keep your fingers close to where you need to continue and concentrate on that position on the neck.

- That long run over G and E chord (starting from 5th string down to the 1st) I played with 4 fingers. That's also the beauty and precision in both alternate picking and hands coordination. Try that as well. Remember that scale is also in 16th triplets so break it into groups of 6 notes per beat for easier understanding

Everything I played here was well rhytmicaly defined and therefore everything you play must logicaly make perfect sense if you follow the note durations as written.

Thanks for the advise - it's like I was aware of many mistakes but you
pinpoint those mistakes in a way that I can understand better. I will
need a little more time than expected on this magnificent piece you
created, in order to really come close I hope. Who can play Emir like
Emire anyway? So cool, man. It's still so fun to play, even though
hearing you do it is like candy to my ears. Thanks, Emir!!!

Hi, Emir. Just an update, your advise is working for me. And that long run
over G & E Chord (5th to 1st. string), I started using 4 fingers instead of
3 like you said and it's much easier to execute. I think because I usually
do use all 4 fingers on the neck except on those higher frets, then habitually
I still tend to use 3. I got into that habit using my old 22 fret where the
body cutting into my neck limited my finger space there. Glad you spotted that.
Anyway, I am practicing playing it in time with your playing, and then by myself
for comparison. Yea, still needs more practicing, slower then faster again...
