Hello guys! This new workout will be based on developing your own voice on guitar.
GMC lessons are great excuses to learn new licks, new scales, new techniques, new styles and that's why we have a section called "REC" in which we invite you to emulate the instructors playing in order to polish, develop and expand your guitar playing. However, that's just the first step, once you can play the licks from the lessons, and even when you still couldn't master them, there is another important thing to do... CREATE YOUR OWN MUSIC. And by "create your own music", I refer to create your own voice on guitar, create your own licks and solos.... in other words to develop your personal playing. How to do it? Well, there are off course many ways and different approaches to develop your own style but this thread shows one of my favorites. This is what I recommend and expect from you on this workout: - Once you've worked on a GMC lesson, (no matter the level or concept that covers) record yourself jamming over its backing track using the scales suggested by the instructor. You can take the licks from the lessons, and create your own variations, you can mix licks, you can change the order of the phrases, you can just change a few notes, or you can create a whole different idea. Everything is welcome. Also, It would be great if you can comment us what was your approach. You can also work on specific areas of your playing, for example: You can decide to work and explore your vibrato technique creating simple melodies using the scale suggested over the backing. Record yourself and share it here. I'll give you feedback, and other GMCers will learn and get inspired by you to work on similar concepts. So, to simplify the main idea of this thread: - TAKE THE BACKING TRACK OF THE LESSON THAT YOU ARE PRACTICING AND RECORD YOURSELF JAMMING OVER IT. You can be an absolute beginner or a extremely avanced player to participate here. Everybody is welcome!! LET'S MAKE SOME MUSIC!! Do you have any questions? Who is in?
