GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Which Shops To Visit?

Posted by: MickeM Apr 24 2008, 10:59 PM

In June or July I'm going to the USA. And since the $ is currently dirt cheap I'm planning to spend some on myself for a change. I could get one in the states at half the price of what I would pay in Sweden for an odd color.
My aim is to pick up a PRS, possibly a CE22.

Qiestion is, if I visit Chicago or New York (it's not decided yet) to which shop do I go where there's a large number of guitars to choose from and I'd rather if they have staff that has the knowledge.

Any recommendations on guitar shops I should visit? smile.gif

well ive been never been to chicago or NY, but i live in the USA.I would suggest a Guitar Center, but if thats not what you want you could always just google search for a local chicago or NY shop.

Well, you could Start with Guitar Center and Sam Ash.

They are both national Chains and they Both claim to have a "Lowest Price" Guarentee. So they both Cost about the same for guitars. They are usually really Huge stores and I believe that they have these stores in both those cities.

There might be some GMCer's in those cities who know some good local places, but these are pretty much the Place everyone in the US goes to buy Musical Equitment.
