Here's one of the 'quarantine' projects I've been working on. As with everything these days, it was all done completely remotely.
It's a bandcamp site but you can stream/listen as much as you want.

Great to hear you in a band context! I like the guitar work, it's very creative. What did you use to record? How was the composition/production process?

The songs were all written by the lead vocalist (Matt Bosson) and the bass player (Frank San Filippo). They would send out demos and a simple chord sheet. Sometimes, if Frank wanted me to play something specific, he would write it out in notation. Both Matt and Frank would also generally offer suggestions in an email or a text though I was allowed to do pretty much whatever I wanted to. Occasionally they didn't like something and it wouldn't make the cut so to speak. Totally normal stuff when making a record. But, as I'm sure you're aware, it takes 3 times longer when you're sending stuff back and forth.

Guitar wise I used a Strat,Tele, Jazzmaster and a 335 with a combination of mic'd amps, load box with IRs and a few parts are completely ITB. A few ODs, a wah, Ebow, slide. Any delay and reverb was added in post by Frank.
Acoustic guitars were mic'd with either one or two condensers, usually SDC.

The recording formats were all over the place. Frank uses Apollos and Digital Performer, I use an Apollo with Luna, the drummer Adam uses Focusrite with Logic, Kevin the keyboard player uses Ableton (I don't know what interface though) and Matt (singer) uses Garageband I think(?).

The heavy lifting was done by Frank. He has an actual small recording studio at his house so all mix and master duties were handled by him.

If you have a specific question about something, just tell me which song and where.

It was a fun project and Frank and I are resurrecting a handful tracks from about 7 or 8 years ago that we never finished. More in the pop and alt. country vein.

Nice!! That's very interesting! I find it curious to know that each of you used a totally different DAW and interface. It's the best you can do if each of you is used to that platform and if you are not planning to work on composing together or things like that.

Me and my brother (Ramen's bassist) use Cubase, and we've been 1 years trying to convince our drummer to move from Reaper to Cubase so we can share project. Finally, we convinced him! But this is because we are constantly working on new music.

Also, you've used a great set up for guitar, and now you are ready to continue making music. I hope to find more stuff from you soon.

I really enjoyed that Ken, some of it reminded me of TV shows from the 60's and 70's, some of it reminded me of the Night And Daydream by Ananta.

There's more stuff coming. That project also has some unfinished songs with a female lead singer that is being finished up and I did a lot of work on a Jazz 'big band' album that should be somewhere near completion - ? Also a few songs for an R&B thing.

The Ananta record is really good. They are practically unknown in the States. In fact I didn't even know about that album. I'm only familiar with the 'Songs From the Future' record and only minimally.
