Sorry to be banging on about this but as you may be able to tell the collapse of a band has rocked me some and not in a good way.
With Kris`s consent I`m changing the guidelines a little for members now wishing to join a Virtual Band.
We want to improve the VB area and really make it something great to be a part of, as far as I`m concerned I enjoy being a part of this and the general feeling from active members in the VB area is the same, so we want to keep the ball rolling and keep motivation going, in order to do this there will need to be a little tighter control over the way we introduce members to the VB area from now on, and really make being part of a VB on GMC something prestigious.
members now wishing to join will have had to have taken part in at least one Instructor/Member collaboration, this will show several things,
1. the member has some recording knowledge and is able to record their parts for the band
2. shows that they are willing to put in some effort to complete a project.
members will need to be active in their threads, this is to keep comunication going so everyone knows whats going on, recording of parts will need to be uploaded within a decent timescale (this should be regulated by the appointed Band Leader), comunication is basically the key here, its not fair on active members to wait endlessly for the odd one to upload their takes without good reason, things happen that are beyond our control sometimes, so just let people know!
Band Leaders will need to follow up their members if activity from them is too slow, Band Leaders needing help with this can ask me to chase up if required but should try and deal with the problem directly if possible, removal from a band for a member that has shown no signs of involvement at all could well be a possibility depending upon the nature of their disappearence, I will not enjoy one little bit removing someone so please DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.Please bear in mind I`m not asking for you to lay down your commitment in blood, its just asking for a little consideration and a small amount of your time to give to the band and to the other members of the band.
learning songs, recording etc is all part of practicing and for me adds a little extra fun to my normal routine, it doesnt take up anymore of my time than I would normally spend practicing.
I shall paste these new guidelines in the main post I made when starting the VB area also.
thanks guys
