Lets get started Frederik!
In your guitar CV there was very good balance of goals in my opinion. Phrasing, guitar fretboard knowledge (arpeggio, modes), improvising and theory and harmony. For your 1st assignment I decided to assign you soloing with arpeggios. As you may already know, I had collaboration that was soloing with chord tones/arpeggios. This will be perfect opportunity for you to learn arpeggios and use them in musical context. Here is your 1st assignment : - Record a solo using chord tones and arpeggios over collaboration backing track found HERE. - One time through the whole thing is enough but I encourage you to submit multiple takes and choruses in order to expand ideas and creativity. - Record video of yourself playing it, upload it to Youtube and embed it in this thread. - Make sure you read my suggestions and follow arpeggio diagrams in thread HERE. Deadline for your 1st assignment is one week from today (13th of September). If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here I will be glad to help you out. Extra assignment : - Read this theory post (using link below) and expand your knowledge of major scale and its modes. You will have a short test in the future for this! https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=418884 |

Nice, should it be improvisations, or should i compose, i can improvise very well over it, but i dont think of arpegio shapes, i just play by ear then

It should be improvised yes. Make sure you don't use any scale notes but just chord tones and arpeggios. Also try to make it as melodic as possible!

If 3 minutes is too much for you right now, do 3 choruses instead

I can see and hear that you are still not totally free with improvising in this area. It would be good for you to upload some more (like you said) and to compare improvement between videos. I think you are on a good way, keep working on it! |

I could perhaps try to do one for you with twice as long changes, but it will not sound as progressing as this one? yeah.. not to be troublesome, but its to hard for me |

Frederik,
Here is the II V I backing track from THIS lesson. You can also find arpeggio graphs in that lesson! Bass in backing track is in octave lower range then it should be but don't let that stop you in practicing soloing with arpeggios and chord tones! I will be out of my town today, back tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help with it! Pedja |
