Hi, Gab, thank you for using your free time to record videos, for all of us here at Gab's Army. laugh.gif I think's it brings a very pleasant degree of interaction.

You can call me Renato, tongue.gif MonkeyDathos was just a mix on words. When I was young my parents used to abbreviate my name to Atos, and back in 2010, when I first joined GMC I was watching a lot of One Piece, in which the protagonist is called monkey d luffy. So I mixed the two. Quite silly and childish biggrin.gif but, well I was a young green sprout back then.

Thank you for your nice words!
One thing I often experience, with music in general, is that the first step tends to be a huge climb, sometimes it even takes years to click.
But once it does I am able to climb very quickly very fast. Winter Tune was one of such. I've always struggled with vibrato, but somehow it just clicked in my head laugh.gif dunno how to explain, but I feel much more confident applying it. Although I still got a lot to improve. I really like using just my index finger, but It lacks the strenght in comparision with the rest, thats something I want to work.
Applying vibrato to my bends is also something I want to be a more mindful, so far I am relying on my instincs to get it through, and sometimes they fail me. laugh.gif

Now a bit of bad news.
I will keep working on the details! and will also begin my journey with Winter Tune II, But only around November will I be able to post REC, as well as being more active here at GMC.
I was hoping to have more free time, but my boss is going on vacations sleep.gif and I ended up gettting to cover her. And let me tell you 9-10 hours in retails really kill my soul laugh.gif
There are days I barely have energy to do anything else after working hours. ph34r.gif Godbless Coffe. I hope, well atleast from November until the summer of 2022 to have way more time to dedicate to the guitar and finally get some fufilment out of it.

Hi Renato!

Thanks for the update mate. It's nice to know that you enjoy the the video responses. biggrin.gif

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to practice during the next months, but after that I'll be ready to check your REC videos, give feedback and continue following your guitar journey.

Even if you don't have guitar news, let's stay in contact sharing music and any other related stuff.

Hey Gab is good to be back. laugh.gif
I spent the afternoon praciticing guitar, felt automatically in better spirits! cool.gif

Back to winter tune.
I am trying to work up the consistency of the last part.

I am not sure if this is the proper way to apply vibrato to bends huh.gif, I usually try to hit the pitch, then lower it a bit and apply the vibrato.

A little bit off topic, have you checked new Nick Johnston.

I really dig his composition style. The guitar is part of the music rather than having the music revolving around the guitar, if that makes sense laugh.gif

Hey Gab! How you doing?

I am huge fan of Remarkably Human, but for some reason I didn't really connect with Wide Eyes In The Dark.
I felt much more akin to RH with this song than with his previous album. I've really dig the piano as the bedrock of the song.

I am going commit heresy tongue.gif You, know, If I were to go back to my youth, I would probably grind the piano instead of the guitar. I really like guitar in all its rock and metal forms(prog, post math classic, etc), but hearing a good piano, either jazz, prog, classical, soundtracks, just makes me feel warm inside laugh.gif, alas is something i've never had the opportunity to work upon.

About Winter Tune,
Gonna try your suggestion!
You know, I've never dedicated this much time to bending and vibrato, as these past few weeks. I still feel the lack of control, for instead I can easily bend the E and B string into pitch, but the G string I tend to overshot and when I have to apply vibrato to bends, I really have to use my brain power to do it. laugh.gif It is still far from second nature. I ain't no Marty Friedman or Zack Wylde..YET! tongue.gif

I tried to record some full takes, but to no avail. Didnt enjoy any tongue.gif Right now I just giving some time for my finger tips to heal and callus up, after so much bending and vibrato its kinda painful atm laugh.gif to touch the strings.

Also ordered some goodies, locking tuners, guitar maintaince products, stings, picks. etc. So expecting to be all set to record again Monday.

Everything is good! I agree that this new song is catchier compared to the previous album. The thing that I miss is to hear the guitar without the other instruments that are playing Unison in many parts. One of the things that I enjoy most form him is the guitar tone. (my fav part starts at 03:52). By the way, I think that this song will grow on me soon. Also, there is a new song coming this Friday. biggrin.gif

It's just a matter of practice. The more you work on this, the more natural it will become.
