Take 2: Modern Heavy Rock Riffs II, Lesson By Mate Nagy |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate! Nice to see you working hard! I think that this take is more precise than the previous one but there is still more room for timing an definition in your playing. The first thing that comes to mind when I listen your take is that your tone could be better equalized. Compare your take with the original and you will see that the original sounds less bass and more defined. Experiment with the EQ trying to emulate the original lesson's tone, increase frequencies aroung 3Khz, and lower frequencies around 800hz - 1000 hz and also below 100hz.
Regarding your playing, I think that you still have to pick stronger, mostly the single note riffs (or short passages) and also try to make the last section sound smoother (starting at 00:51). In other other words, try to make this lesson sound tighter and more defined. -------------------- My lessons
