The neck wood is swamp ash wich sounds a bit weird but might be up to s.o. taste... The overall built quality was ok, Schecter like (good but not grounbraking) but it isn't worth it's money imo (like most signature guitars). For less money you can get a C-7 Hellraiser (which loomis used before he got his signature) and it even offers more than the loomis (locking tuners, split humbuckers,...)
