Annie Clark St. Vincent Style?, Are there instructors who wants to figure out her typical style?

Mar 26 2016, 08:06 AM	GMC:er Posts: 12 Joined: 27-April 14	I follow St. Vincent for about a year and notice that she has a totaly different play style compared to most of the guitarist. Though she is not aka shredder, she manage IMHO to musically put together weird licks. I wonder if there is place for that at GMC. For one reason this could be a good learning experience: "... She plays E(synth) D# B C# D C# B C#.. And then she does the funky thing on the B7 chord. But who on earth comes with the idea to put a D# in this row where one expect to play G# or E ? She worked for him for years. Most, if not all of the 'weird' chords or melodic ideas she comes up with (which I really dig) are really just more of a jazz thing juxtaposed into an indie rock context. Also important to understand is that 1) the guitars she chooses, the Teiscos and Kents, have a very unique tone and feel and 2) she's very adept at utilizing effects like octavers, fuzzes, loopers and delays to achieve unique sounds.
