Check out the Carvin legacy (Vai's) the clean channel is simply amazing, so acoustic, and the reverb is really nice. The dirty channel is creamy and thick, superb for the solos!! It's a kind of marshall but with a darker sound, simply beautiful to me. Not so good for trash and death metal, but for a tasty guitarist is beautiful, give him a try if you can!

I have AVT50. It doesn't have a great clean and the reverb is half decent. If you're going for Marshall bellow 100W you don't have enough headroom to get a decent clean sound, only great overdrive and crunch, so my bet woudl be DSL401 for the money. Even here it's ~700e.
