Same reason Les Pauls sound better than the shred type guitars. This guy never had a cutaway, you really don't need that. Don't know why people want ot play upper frets on an acoustic much anyway. But my view, not everyone's. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ReW9uUYm-DA |

I know what you mean about the loss with the cutaway. I just get frustrated frequently with my current acoustic and I've tested a few cutaways and like it. I'm willing to sacrifice. |

Basically an acoustic for a lead guitarist. Cutaway is mandatory for hitting those high notes. Any ideas? Hey man, I may have exactly the right thing for you. Well, it was the right thing to me. Washburn EA-20 series. Be aware there are some variants inside the series (also in terms of price). I paid 1250 dollars for mine EA-20SDL (in Denmark). I don't know the price in US, it may be even under the price range you are looking for, but I I have to say I tried some more expensive guitars, but this one had exact the character I wanted: comfortable playing, amazing treble sound, cutaway, good looking (both the light and black versions), great to play even unplugged, This is a video of me playing tears in heaven. Go for minute 2 and see how the solo can sound even on a noisy pub recorded with the sound directly recorded on a photograph camera... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei57fG-rsNs I believe Nuno Bettencourt used a premium version of this guitar, the Washburn EA-22B https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt7L4X4li_k This post has been edited by Gus: May 2 2008, 01:27 PM -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video
